If you're already thinking about next year's holiday, then there's one hotspot that you could save big on if you book enough time in advance.
If the drab Scottish 'summer' is getting you down, it's not surprising if you've already started to plan your next exotic getaway.
The experts found that holidaymakers could save the most amount of money when booking a trip to Portugal, highlighting that it's cheaper if you book in advance rather than waiting until the last minute. With 150km of stunning coastline, the Algarve's most impressive feat has got to be its beaches. There are plenty of stretches of coast framed by cliffs hanging over the sea, making it perfect for holidaymakers who want to spend their trip amongst nature.
Other highlights include Faro, which is the capital of the Algarve and where most people fly into. Often overlooked by tourists, the region boasts a stunning Old Town, marina and architecture dating back to the 11th century. Sicily, in particular, was where you could make the biggest savings. The experts found that you could save an impressive £340pp by booking early rather than leaving it to the last-minute - which is a saving of £680 for a couple.
