Anna Eshoo, Assemblymember Evan Low has pulled back ahead of Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian — this time leading by only two votes — as the pair battle it out for a spot in the general election.
Since election night, Simitian and Low have had several lead changes over the other in the Congressional District 16 race, with the supervisor on MondayTwo weeks after the election, few ballots remain to be counted. Santa Clara County on Tuesday processed only 200 ballots, with 77 of them coming from District 16 voters. The remaining ballots — about 1,300 total — are largely challenged ballots that had a problem with the signature or another issue.
San Mateo County did not report any new election results on Tuesday, but is expected to do so Wednesday. On Monday, the county said it had about 20 unprocessed ballots and 680 challenged ballots.Dear Abby: If your house is on fire, you get a pass. Everyone else should be at the party.
