Evanston police believe there is not a missing swimmer in Lake Michigan after crews searched the water on Monday afternoon.

ABC7 Chicago Digital TeamA heavy fire and police response was seen at Lee Street Beach , Dempster Street Beach, and Church Street Beach on Monday.

All Evanston swimming beaches were temporarily closed on Monday afternoon after there were reports of a swimmer going missing at Greenwood Beach in the 1100-block of Lake Shore Boulevard.Police initially said a person was swimming in the lake when they went under and did not come back up around 3:15 p.m.

A heavy fire and police response was seen at Lee Street Beach, Dempster Street Beach and Church Street Beach.
