David Moyes is reportedly interested in bringing Brighton technical director David Weir to Everton.
An update has been issued on the possibility that David Weir could leave Brighton to join David Moyes as Everton director of football. Moyes has returned to Goodison Park as their manager for a second spell, 12 years after he first left. Weir played under Moyes at Everton and then joined his coaching staff after retiring. The Scotsman has since worked his way to becoming the technical director at Brighton .
When asked on social media if there was any truth to Weir potentially joining Moyes at Everton, Sky Sports journalist Myers responded, “not that I’m aware”. The club has struggled since Moyes’ controversial departure for Manchester United, and will be hoping he can inspire them to top-six finishes like in his first spell. However, the January transfer window will be crucial for Everton’s success this season as their squad lacks top-level talent. The owners have invested £233million into the club to help repay existing loans and fund the new stadium development. Moyes will likely have to seek loan or bargain-priced options to strengthen his squad in January
