Everton are reportedly considering a naming rights deal worth around £150million with a premium brand, potentially rejecting smaller offers.
The 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested the Toffees could turn down a larger pay packet to agree a naming rights deal worth around £150million with a more premium brand. Everton have confirmed they have fielded naming rights offers for their new stadium, which will open next year in time for the 2025-26 season and will hold 52,888 fans.
It was widely reported in 2023 that former owner Farhad Moshiri held in-person talks with Qatar Airways over a potential stadium naming deal. The flag-carrying airline are the principle sponsors of the Euro 2028 tournament – which will see the new Everton stadium host several fixtures.
