Connor O'Neill rates the Everton players after the 1-1 draw with Roma on Saturday
Everton finished their pre-season with a respectable 1-1 draw with Roma at Goodison Park on Saturday. They will next be in action in a week against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
The Blues found themselves behind in the first period as the visitors took control, with Lorenzo Pellegrini latching onto a long ball over the top and stroking past Jordan Pickford. Everton were much improved in the second half though and got a deserved equaliser after a composed finish from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.Almost caught out in the first-half when he failed to collect a bouncing ball, but in terms of actual saves, he had very little to do throughout the 90 minutes.Replaced just after the half-hour mark after picking up an injury. Looks set to be in a race against time to be fit for next weekend’s opener.
Showed some nice touches and kept things simple, but a proud moment for the youngster playing in front of a crowd at Goodison for the first time.
