Everton 's FA Cup third-round game against Peterborough tonight has been given the green light despite fears over weather conditions. The Premier League club are set to host the League One side at 7.45pm on Thursday, live on talkSPORT, following an afternoon meeting regarding fan safety due to the snow-effected area.The Toffees have now also been granted the go-ahead after their 1pm briefing, having revealed the news in a statement online.
It read: 'Our third-round FA Cup tie with Peterborough will go ahead as planned this evening (kick-off 7:45pm). 'A safety meeting was held this afternoon to assess the weather and travel conditions for fans attending the tie, which confirmed the game can go ahead.' The roads and footpaths around the stadium have been treated since the morning to ensure they are as safe as possible for supporters accessing the stadium. Anyone attending Goodison Park is advised to prepare for the cold conditions, take care and to allow extra time that may be needed in travelling to the game, including being aware of any advice and weather warnings that may be in place in areas fans are travelling from. No further snow is forecast for this evening, but temperatures will barely be above freezing around kick-off time at Goodison Park.
