Sean Dyche could be faced with a number of selection dilemmas when he has a full squad available - our ECHO writers pick their best Everton XI if all players are fully fit
With Everton hoping to get more players back after the international break, members of the ECHO sportsdesk have had their say on just what is Sean Dyche's strongest 11 right now if he has his full squad available.Considering how small Everton’s squad is, manager Sean Dyche will be encouraged by there actually being some genuine selection dilemmas in several areas of the pitch if he ever gets everyone fit, especially – all of a sudden – in attacking areas.
Centre-back has been an area of question marks of late with even the often-dependable James Tarkowski – the only Premier League player to have turned out for every minute last term wobbling a bit and Jarrad Branthwaite having come in for Michael Keane after a couple of games but it might be wise to stick with the current partnership for a little longer at least.
My strongest Everton 11: Pickford; Coleman, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Young; Gueye, Onana, Doucoure; McNeil, Danjuma, Calvert-Lewin.It's a paper-thin squad, no doubt, but should Everton steer clear of injuries, it is one that should have enough to avoid as desperate a fight against relegation as the previous two seasons.
Then this is where it gets interesting. Does Sean Dyche, for the first time in his Everton tenure, go with two men up top in Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin? But would that mean Abdoulaye Doucoure losing his place despite being the Blues' biggest goal threat during Dyche's time at the club? Or would Doucoure drop back into midfield, which would mean Amadou Onana or Idrissa Gana Gueye getting cut from the starting line-up? They are big dilemmas.
