The Blues were beaten 1-0 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon
Everton's disappointing start to the Women's Super League season continued with a 1-0 defeat away to Leicester City.
The Blues went into the clash off the back of last weekend's loss to Brighton & Hove Albion and started brightly at the King Power Stadium. Summer signing Martina Piemonte stung the palms of Janina Leitzig with an early effort on goal before two fine blocks from the Leicester defence prevented the Italian from getting on the scoresheet.
Vanhaevermaet, making her first start for the club since joining from Reading in the summer, saw her penalty and rebound saved brilliantly by Leitzig, leaving the scores level heading into the break.
