In arbitration which kicked off on Monday , Man City are attempting to end the Premier League’s Associated Party Transaction rules in the latest top-flight twist. Under APT rules, clubs are prevented from inflating commercial deals with owner-linked companies as current agreements are assessed to be of fair market value.
The regulations are not directly linked to PSR but clubs will be effectively able to avoid financial breaches by inflating sponsorships to ensure they don’t make a loss of more than £105million over three years.Wyness claimed Everton will have to live with the consequences of any breach the club may have committed in the 2023-24 campaign.“I don’t think City’s challenge will have any bearing on Everton’s third potential PSR breach.
“In this case, I do feel sorry for the Premier League. I’ve criticised them in the past, but this is Man City just acting in very bad faith.
