A member of a renowned Manchester band will be hosting an inspiring free event later this week as part of a week-long series of talks and workshops. To coincide with the 2025 edition of Industry Week , which focuses on careers in the creative industries, the dBs Institute of Sound & Digital Technologies is currently hosting a series of events at their Manchester campus on New Century House on Hanover Street.
Situated within the same building as the esteemed music venue and food hall, New Century, the university delivers courses on music, technology, and gaming. As part of its Industry Week celebrations, notable figures like Manchester rapper OneDa, Akemi Foxx, and J Chambers have already participated in a number of workshops and panel discussions. \On Thursday night (February 13), Jeremy Pritchard of the beloved Manchester art rock band Everything Everything, who performed on the opening night of Co-op Live last year, will host a free 'In Conversation' session and Q&A, followed by networking and drinks. The group, which has been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize on two occasions and has also received five Ivor Novello Awards nominations, first emerged onto the scene in 2007. Last year, their seventh album Mountainhead reached the top ten in the UK album charts. The 'intimate' interview session has been promoted as a perfect opportunity for fans of the band and musicians who are forging a similar path and seeking insights and inspiration. The remaining Industry Week events will include a panel on marketing, branding, and PR, as well as a panel discussion on Brand Immersion in Games. BBC 6Music’s Chris Hawkins will also record a live podcast on how to DJ.
