Four defendants are on trial at Liverpool Crown Court after allegedly assisting killer Connor Chapman
The trial of four defendants accused of assisting an offender following the murder of Elle Edwards opened this week with the prosecution outlining its case. Ms Edwards, a 26-year-old beautician, died after Connor Chapman opened fire with a Skorpion sub-machine gun outside the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey on Christmas Eve 2022. Chapman was convicted of her murder in July last year and later jailed for life with a minimum term of 48 years .
footage played to the jury showed Owen at the pub when Chapman arrived to pick the car up and then on Chapman’s road to collect it back, the prosecution said. The court also heard on the evening of January 3, after searching or accommodation on Booking.com which the prosecution says was for Chapman, Matthews went on Google Maps street view and explored the area around the Lighthouse pub. The court heard Matthews would delete her web history after each search.

The court heard the men did some Christmas shopping and visited shops including Ryman, JD Sports and Pandora. The court did not sit on Friday with the jury expected to reconvene on Monday morning for a continuation of proceedings.
