The PM pledged a 2p NI tax cut and a 'regular rhythm of flights every month' to Rwanda

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak today unveiled the Tory party's general election manifesto - with tax cuts, a legal cap on migration and a 'regular rhythm of flights every month' to Rwanda all promised under a Conservative government. The PM spoke at the Silverstone racetrack as a 76-page dossier outlining proposed Tory policies was published.

There was also a vow not raise the rate of income tax or VAT, and a pledge to halve national insurance by 2027 and 'maintain' rises in the national living wage. Addressing Tory members and journalists at Silverstone, Northamptonshire, the home of the British Grand Prix, Mr Sunak said the launch of the Tory manifesto showed that 'our economy has truly turned a corner' and that his party's policies would ensure 'more British success stories'.

"The fact that we can lead the world in such competitive fields should make us all enormously proud of our country, but crucially optimistic about our future, because we Brits can outcompete the best in the world." The manifesto pledges to clear the asylum backlog, with all claims processed in six months and the use of hotels ended. It also claims a Conservative government would crack down on organised immigration crime, reform asylum rules, return 'people with no right to be here' to their own country through further returns deals similar to those currently agreed with Albania.
