The news was announced on Thursday, just over a week since the series launched, an incredibly fast turnaround time for a show where such plans had not been announced pre-release and emblematic of just how great its launch has been, both in terms of viewership and critical and audience reaction. Here’s what producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy said in a statement:

Thank you to Jonah, Kilter, Bethesda and Amazon for having the courage to make a show that gravely tackles all of society’s most serious problems these days — cannibalism, incest, jello cake. More to come!”“It’s been one of the most spectacular projects we’ve ever been a part of. Jonah and team did such an incredible job, and we’re overjoyed not just by the reaction to the show but that we get to work with these amazing people even more.
“You’d be remiss, almost irresponsible to not have started to talk about where your story could take you. So we have been talking from the beginning about how this would develop and evolve in subsequent seasons, if we should be so lucky.” 2) Co-showrunner Graham Wagner talked about how some things were held back for future seasons that are core to the Fallout franchise:
