The coffin will be flown to London early next week. She will lie in state for “four clear days” in Westminster Hall, in the Palace of Westminster, from Wednesday 14 September, a senior palace official said.The Queen’s funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19 September at 11am.
After arriving on Tuesday evening, the coffin will then be taken to Buckingham Palace by road, where it will stay overnight.will set off from Buckingham Palace, as a gun carriage of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery carries the coffin through central London to Westminster Hall in the Palace of Westminster, where the monarch is to lie in state.
During the lying-in-State, members of the public will have the opportunity to visit Westminster Hall to pay their respects to The Queen., the day of the funeral, Queen’s lying in state will end, and in the morning the coffin will be taken in procession from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey for the funeral.. Further details of the service will be published in due course. It is expected Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will lead the service.
New Prime Minister Liz Truss, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer will be among Parliamentarians in attendance, with members of the Privy Council – including Sir John Major, Sir Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson – likely to be invited.
