The children's stepdad was called to the school but said he had separated from the children's 27-year-old mum, reportsThe children from Randfontein, in South Africa, have been taken into care while local authorities investigate."She had looked for it and the kids said they ate it and she burnt them on the hands and thighs with the iron."
Sgt Hendricks added: "Upon his arrival [the stepdad] spoke to the teacher who told him the children do not cope at school and are very scared.“The children, who were staying with the mother at that time, could not talk to anyone until they got to school.
Sgt Hendricks said the woman faces a charge of child abuse and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.The allegations has shocked people in this region of South Africa
