Evil Scots killer who sent pics of dying victim with laughing emoji has jail time increased
An evil knife killer who took and sent pictures of his dying victim alongside laughing emojis has had his prison sentence increased by judges. Andrew Palfreman was locked up for a minimum of 12 years after being found guilty of repeatedly striking Barry McLachlan on the head and body with a blade during a row in July 2021.
In a ruling, they said: “There was no reasonable basis to conclude that the respondent had acted impulsively, or that his mental health problems had affected his self-control and disposed him to violence. “The trial judge erroneously stated that the respondent admitted his guilt: that is precisely what he did not do. He admitted causing the death, but disputed any criminal responsibility therefore.
Top news stories today Palfreman, who had been friends with his victim, told officers that they had fallen out after Barry allegedly shouted at a dog.
