Summary Evil just answered a serious theological question, and even the actors were stunned by the effectiveness of its scene. The drama first premiered in 2019 and stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi as three investigators desperately trying to resolve supernatural issues. Evil season 4 has received immense praise, but it recently crossed into controversial territory.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Andrea Martin broke down every detail about the exorcism. They filmed the shocking scene in a deserted church, as the ever-screaming alien-like infant developed a calm and lovable temperament. Martin explained that Sister Andrea's motivation and the desperate need to conduct a baptism in an extremely disordered setting is what made the scene so effective.
Well, we shot it in a church, it was really pouring rain. The church was kind of deserted , like so many churches are these days, they're going bankrupt. I got to work with Wally Shawn, I got to work with Christine Lahti, there were so many levels happening. One nostalgia, one the gruesomeness of this baby — the Antichrist, as you say — but then the little baby becoming a sweet baby. There were so many levels that we worked on in the scene.
