A convicted killer serving a life sentence behind bars for murdering her sister has been cleared of historic child sex abuse claims

The charges, which dated back to 2009, claimed Greenop repeatedly touched one girl’s breasts, buttocks and private parts, both over and under their clothing. She faced a second charge of sexually assaulting - or alternatively engaging in sexual activities with - the girl between December 2010 and November 2012.
The trial, heard under Sheriff Shirley Foran, began at Ayr Sheriff Court last Monday with the jury returning a verdict on Wednesday afternoon, with the first charge found not proven by majority.
