The former Belfast unionist councillor has been accused of doctoring a council payslip in a bid to claim cash from Britain First after a 'stunt' by Jayda Fransen

A former Belfast unionist councillor has been accused of doctoring a council payslip in a bid to claim cash from a far-right group.

But he later made a complaint to the council standards watchdog after learning, he claimed, she had not been fined. She was accused of breaching the code in several areas including bringing her role or her council into disrepute, and improper use or attempted use of her position. Attending the hearing in Belfast, Mr Golding said that Ms Bunting was an "ally" of Britain First in 2018.

He said he asked for proof of the penalty and Ms Bunting sent him a copy of her payslip which referenced "deductions" of £545.38. He said it was after this point that questions were raised about Ms Bunting's alleged fine, and he submitted a complaint to the council standards watchdog at the end of August.Mr Golding rejected Ms Bunting's claims that she has had to contact the police due to his "harrassment" of her.
