Hundreds have been fired or asked to resign in the district, which has a $450M budget deficit and where enrollment has been falling for years.
Anger among community members, district workers and students has reached a boiling point in recent weeks with the firings and requested resignations of hundreds of employees, including numerous beloved teachers and principals, as well as support staff such as librarians, custodial and maintenance workers and education specialists, Houston news media has reported.
