Ex-Eastenders star James Alexandrou hits red carpet with friend years after leaving Walford behind
James, 37, is best known for playing Martin Fowler on the long-running BBC soap from 1996 until 2007 when he left the soap. He has kept a relatively low profile since. The role of Martin is now portrayed by James Bye, who first landed in Walford in 2014.
The West End show originally premiered in August 2021, with Smile singer, Lily Allen and former Eastenders actor Jake Wood leading the cast. After watching the performance, James tweeted: "If u know… @222aghoststory delayed but thanks 4 the rollercoaster on Friday. As his character was not killed off, it was thought that James might return, but James ruled out the possibility of returning to the soap as he previously said: “They [EastEnders bosses] were talking for a while about me going back.
