An ex-England footballer is facing a fresh near £200,000 bill after a lengthy legal battle. Emile Heskey has had a seven-year dispute with HM Revenue and Customs over an unpaid tax bill worth £1.637 million.
On Tuesday, a specialist costs judge ruled Heskey should pay a further £194,794.42 in legal fees for the case. Costs Judge Mark Whalan told the London hearing said the sum was “reasonable and proportionate” in the “complex” case.
