Hooker Liam Hood has become the first player to commit his future to Wakefield Trinity under their new regime.
The former Leeds Rhinos man joined Trinity from Leigh last year and has signed a new contract for the 2024 Betfred Championship season. Hood, who has also played for Salford Red Devils, is the first player retained by Trinity since Daryl Powell was confirmed as coach this week following new owner Matt Ellis’ takeover.
“Liam is one of those players who binds a group together,” Powell said of the Scotland international. “He has great leadership skills, is skilful and is a tough and uncompromising defender. “I’m delighted he has agreed to extend his time at the club and be one of the foundation players in this next exciting era at Wakefield Trinity. I look forward to working with him in the coming years to see just how good he can become.
