Leeds United head to Wembley on Sunday to face Southampton for a place in the Premier League, but the winner will find it increasingly difficult to not come straight back down
Leeds United have been warned they face a major challenge to stay in the Premier League, if they can beat Southampton at Wembley to make an immediate return to the top flight. The Whites face the Saints on Sunday at the national stadium with both clubs looking to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking following relegation last year.
Having seen Burnley struggle this season despite them romping to the Championship title last year, Stephen Warnock has expressed his concern that the gap between the divisions has grown larger. The Former Leeds United and eight-season Championship player, has told NewBettingOffers.co.uk that there is a “worrying” gulf between the Championship and Premier League, and that he has concerns for Leicester City, Ipswich Town and whoever wins the play-off final.
“We need to see a change, otherwise the promotion picture will become very boring and everyone will start to expect the three clubs getting promoted to be the same three clubs getting relegated the season after. Currently, that is a big worry.”
