Nick Adderley is accused of making up 'military naval legend' about himself, including that he was a war veteran.
A former police chief wore a fake Falklands War medal and lied about his naval achievements, a misconduct panel heard.
John Beggs, a lawyer representing the Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner , spoke during a three-day misconduct hearing at Northampton Saints' Franklins Gardens stadium. He also claimed to be a “commander or a lieutenant”, but was actually the lowest-ranked seaman during his time in the navy.
He said: “To claim you served your country when in fact you were 15 years old is an egregious thing to have done by any person, let alone a senior police officer.”
