There's apparently a secret code for finding the freshest veg
A former Tesco employee has shared just how shoppers can find fresher packets of vegetables in-store by looking at a secret code on the bag.
Luckily, one supermarket worker has shared just how the 'secret code' on the front of the front of the bag actually tells you how fresh the product inside is. Sharing the clip under her TikTok handle @financegirlbargains, she explains that the letter and number on the bag represent how long the product will last.
The clip has since been liked by nearly 30,000 shoppers, with many commenters agreeing that the numbers on the front of the packet are called a 'Julian Code', which means that the letter stands for the month and the number is the date. A second agreed: "A=January, 6=6th. applies to all fruit and veg. A is January, B is February and so on."
