The north of England is predicted to be soaked by heavy rainfall when the storm arrives
New weather maps reveal a colossal Atlantic storm heading for the UK next week, expected to bring heavy rainfall across vast regions of the country.
This follows just days after the nation grappled with widespread flooding that caused travel mayhem, with numerous roads shut and vehicles submerged in water. Welney Wash Road on the Norfolk-Cambridgeshire border, known as Britain's 'most flooded' road, is currently under 2.5 foot of water due to heavy rainfall over the past week.
England, especially the south, has been significantly drenched beyond average levels, according to forecasts. Ten counties had their wettest September on record, with Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire enduring the wettest month ever noted since records began in 1836.
