Weather maps show the exact date that the UK will be basking in 'summer-like' temperatures, with maps turning orange to indicating a comeback for warmer weather
After a period of heavy rain and thunderstorms, the UK is set to experience a return to warmer weather with temperatures reaching up to 23C in some areas.
WXCharts' latest weather maps indicate when the country can expect 'summer-like' temperatures, with the colour orange signifying the return of warmth. This comes as the Met Office has issued three separate yellow weather warnings for rain and thunderstorms across northern England, as well as significant portions of central, southern and southwestern England.
However, by next week, milder conditions are expected to provide a respite from the rainy weather. Cities such as Manchester and Birmingham could see temperatures rise to as high as 23C from June 5, reports the Mirror. The Met Office's long-range forecast for May 31 to June 9 states: "Showers are possible in the southeast on Friday, otherwise the UK will mainly experience dry weather with sunny spells, and it will feel warm with light winds for most.
"This fair weather is likely to continue for a few days into the following week, but thereafter the outlook becomes more uncertain. The south of the UK will probably be drier, with focus for showers or rainfall tending to be across the north. Temperatures will probably be around normal or a little above for the time of year."
The week's weather progression commences with dry and settled conditions on Monday that are expected to prevail over many southern and eastern regions. Albeit rain showers are forecasted for northern and western parts with some potentially developing sporadically throughout the day.As per the Met Office's projection, Tuesday will see an increase in rainfall traversing northeastwards across several regions which will subsequently usher in sunny spells interspersed with showers.
