The UK is set for a significant drop in temperatures as weather maps predict an icy blast to hit the country in the coming days.
However, the cold snap is set to return, with weather maps indicating that parts of the UK could see snowfall this week. Glasgow is predicted to be blanketed in snow on Tuesday , while other regions are expected to experience rain showers.This unseasonal weather is forecasted to persist for two days before giving way to drier and warmer conditions from Thursday , reports the Mirror.
"As we move into the new week, the outlook remains uncertain, though there is an increased likelihood of periods of rain breaking into showers spreading from the west, accompanied by fresh or strong winds at times. The southeast of the UK will probably continue to be drier with western areas more likely seeing the most rainfall.
Bookmakers have cut the odds on this summer being the wettest on record, as weather maps show heavy rain is set to pour down. Ladbrokes now has it at just 7/2 that this summer will go down in history - but not for the right reasons, as it's predicted to be the wettest ever.
