Temperatures reaching into the mid to high 30Cs
A leading weather forecaster has warned that a second, potentially "more extreme" heatwave is set to follow the current spell of scorching temperatures in the UK.
Exacta Weather forecaster James Madden stated that this "major heat surge" should hit the UK "for in and around August 10 to August 15". He warned: "This could bring the hottest temperatures of the summer to date, with overall values rising into the low to mid 30Cs at the very least once again." As for today, Met Office meteorologist Clare Nasir said this morning: " strong sunshine through the afternoon, allowing temperatures to rise very quickly across England and Wales - it's another hot day, also humid. Temperatures across Wales 26C to 28C, 30C to 32C across the far south of England. But a pleasantly warm 20C to 21C across Scotland and Northern Ireland."
