National Grid is launching its money-back scheme for reducing energy consumption during peak hours again on Tuesday
Households will be paid to switch off their electricity for a second day in a row under a new scheme to avoid blackouts.
The Demand Flexibility Service is a scheme that is available to consumers through their energy suppliers which aims to alleviate pressure on energy supplies. The scheme is only available to those who have smart meters in their homes and are with a supplier that is on National Grid's approved list. Today customers signed onto the scheme can expect to receive £3.37 worth of energy credit per unit of electricity saved.
