Excitement as major new Nottingham supermarket announces opening date
Signs announcing an opening date have appeared in the window of the new Murat Food Centre and International Supermarket in Sneinton Market. The new supermarket could open as early as Saturday, July 30 depending on ongoing work.
There is another Murat Food Centre open on Gedling Street, also in Sneinton Market. The plan is to keep both locations but to fill them with different stock."We should know by Thursday if we can open on that weekend. The problem is that some suppliers are late but we want to make sure we are finished properly so that we can open when we are ready," he said.
The shop has undergone a complete makeover with new fixtures fitted, new fridges and also a large bakery section with impressive lighting features. It's taken a long time to get to this stage as the whole building has needed a refurbishment. The new shop will also have parking access as the back entrance is on Aberdeen Street where there is a pay and display car park. There are two entrances to the shop which have been fitted with a lighting display and gold lettering that stands out against the black storefront.
