It was once home to a bank
People in Nottingham city centre have welcomed a plan to breathe new life into a 'gorgeous building'. Plans have been put forward for a 'high quality' sports bar in the former All Saints clothes shop in Thurland Street.
However, a 49-year-old Nottingham resident, who did not wish to be named, said: "It's definitely good to see it used but I don't know if it's being used for the right thing. It's such a beautiful building." The bar group have been searching for a suitable location in Nottingham for some time, and have identified the premises as an ideal site for their 'Box' bar concept – which they say is a "game changing, high-quality sports bar to eat, drink, view, play and party".
Insolvency administrator Craig Warsop, 40, of Nottingham, said: "Any bar is a good idea, I guess, but there's a lot of them in town, I guess anything that has food in general is good though." And now a cocktail bar is planned for the site. Other people in the city said they hoped the distinctive features of the two buildings would be protected and respected.
