Crystal Palace are set to sign Australian teenage sensation Rylan Brownlie on a free transfer,Brownlie, 17, has been training with Palace recently after leaving Brisbane Roar in the summer.
The highly-rated forward has done enough during his training stint at Palace to be offered a deal by the Eagles and has agreed terms. He came through the ranks in Brisbane and signed his first professional deal just last year, but left the A-League side in July 2024.Brownlie made 12 appearances in the A-League during the 2023-24 campaign, notching one goal and one assist.He was just sixteen when he scored his first senior goal for Brisbane, becoming the club’s youngest-ever league scorer.The 2007-born striker, who is not 18 until February 2025, stands at 5 foot 10 inches and is renowned for his power and pace.
Crystal Palace have moved to sign the striker on a permanent basis and he is likely to slot into their Under-18 side, which is among the best in England.At the senior level, Oliver Glasner’s side took a big step clear of relegation danger with a crucial 1-0 away win at Ipswich on Tuesday .
