The Power's Toni Collette responds to the 'panties in a bunch' scene
Collette's mayor Cleary-Lopez plays a pivotal role in the series as the first government official who is willing to stand up and tell the public the truth about what is happening with the teenage girls.
While Collette may play one of the most powerful women in the show, her character is not exempt from workplace sexism and misogyny. In one scene in particular, Daniel Dandon, the governor of Washington, played by Josh Charles, tells Cleary-Lopez not to"get your panties in a bunch"., Collette said that this sort of situation is unfortunately commonplace for many women:"We've all been in a situation like that, haven't we?
