Turns out she's the opposite of her character in real life.
"I’m only there for the acting. Every time they tell me I can breathe fire or walk on coals or hang upside-down and be beaten or hit somebody with a stick – I’m always like, 'Oh, God, here we go.' And I just wing it, because it’s the only way to get through it."
Lawless continued:"I loved it on Spartacus that the most dangerous thing I had to do was eat Turkish delight and poison people, and poison other people. It was the dream. I’d just stand on the balcony, and watch all the stuntmen fighting half-naked down below. They’d go, 'Don’t you wish you were down here, Lucy?'"
But while she may hate doing stunts, Lawless was once again faced with the prospect of having to do them for her show,"The stunts where you can see my face [are me] – [just like] back in the day on," she said."Not only is it unsafe to have your lead actor get punched in the face, or be on a horse any longer than they need to – because if they fall off, and break an arm, everybody’s out of a job for a while. Or if they break their neck, everybody’s out of the job forever.
She added:"So you do as little as you can to tell the story safely, and as much as they’re able to safely."Best Entertainment and Tech Deals
