Summary Warning: SPOILERS for the Expats season finale. After 136 episodes of portraying Ethan Choi on Chicago Med, Brian Tee opted to leave the NBC series to explore other opportunities and stretch his creative muscles. He has since taken on the part of Clarke in Prime Video's limited series, Expats, which dropped its final installment on February 23.

Brian Tee: It was interesting. I feel like it was, for me, a natural progression. I think to be a part of something so elevated as far as Expats is concerned, and it being a limited series, it's just six episodes, and, basically, a six-and-a-half-hour movie is something I was really yearning for. I think it came at the right place at the right time. I felt very ready.

After everything that had transpired, that's why he takes it upon himself to really try to hold things together. There's this huge amount of grief and guilt, because it's because of his job that they're there in the first place. So all of these, I guess, five stages of grief that you experience, I really tried to delve into all of those.

When Margaret said that she had to stay in Hong Kong, Clarke really didn't fight her on it. Do you think he already suspected that she wasn't going to get on the plane? Brian Tee: I love that it's left open-ended. I do. I think art imitates life in a sense, but we rarely see that happening in television, especially in that medium. I think everyone somehow enjoys that it's this closure for themselves as far as a television show is concerned, but that's not real life. There's not always closure. And I think the way that Lulu created this show is her genius.
