Emergency services raced to Selvieland Road, Penilee, just before 1am on Tuesday to find the Volkswagen engulfed in flames.
Glasgow residents were woken by the sound of an 'explosion' after a car burst into flames in a deliberate blaze early this morning.The windows were completely blown out and smashed as debris lay on the ground nearby. An anonymous resident told Glasgow Live she was frightened when she first saw the flames.
Another resident, whose car was damaged in the incident, also said: "My neighbour chapped my door at around 1.30am and told me what was going on. I saw the smoke. My car was parked near it.
