Just casually preparing for Brexit Day... 😬

If you’re taking a stroll through south westPeople passing through the boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth have been warned to brace themselves for a series of ‘low-grade explosions, bangs and flashes’.

But rather than heralding a full scale military invasion or armed uprising, the bangs will be coming from the perimeter of the area’s Royal Marines barracks. In a warning this morning Merton Police told people a training exercise would be running from the site between 10.30am and 12.30pm. A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence told Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s part of the training of the reserves to make sure that they’re ready to deploy.

‘It’s not anything to be worried about, it’s a relatively regular thing and it’s not a cause for concern.’Please be aware that there will be a series of low-grade explosions, bangs and flashes today within the perimeter of the Royal Marines barracks on Merton Road, SW18. This is for the purpose of a training exercise, expected to last about 2 hours between 10:30 and 12:30.
