One of California’s new laws will impact every motorist in Oakland. Assembly Bill 645 lets the city install up to 18 cameras for automated speed enforcement in high-injury areas.

That’s where the new speed enforcement cameras come in, once the highest-injury streets are identified and funding is in place. If a camera is installed near Thornhill Elementary, Fry says it will save lives.
