Can Aston Martin stay ahead of its rivals’ efforts to upgrade their own cars? Will Fernando Alonso drive forever? What’s Lance Stroll’s potential? Submit your questions below for team principal Mike Krack!
As Formula One hurtles toward the final race before its summer break, we can say that one of the more remarkable things about this year is just how established a contender Aston Martin feels.
The team that finished seventh in the constructors’ championship last year launched off the line in 2023 as a resurgent Fernando Alonso left the midfield behind to take podiums in the first three grands prix of the year. Aston Martin now sits third behind Red Bull and Mercedes, 17 points ahead of fourth place Ferrari and nearly 100 up on fifth place McLaren.
Simultaneously, it has produced a whole lot of questions, including: How did it make its car so much better? Can it stay ahead of its rivals’ efforts to upgrade their own cars? Will Fernando Alonso drive forever? What’s Lance Stroll’s potential? And so on. That’s why we’ve wrangled a sit down with team principal Mike Krack. The Luxembourgish engineer has worked with young drivers Felipe Massa and Sebastian Vettel, held leadership motorsports roles at BMW and Porsche, and even did some racing off his own in his younger days. Given Aston Martin’s success since Krack took the helm at the start of last year, this make be the most impressive bullet point on his CV to date.
And now, he’ll be answering your questions. Whatever you want to know from the man running Aston Martin, drop in the comments below and we’ll work to get you an answer from Krack himself.
