Former F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve claims Kevin Magnussen should have received a race ban following his crash with Sergio Perez in Monaco.
A controversial crash on the first lap of the Monaco Grand Prix between Kevin Magnussen and Sergio Perez not only ended their race prematurely but also ignited a fiery debate within the Formula 1 community. The incident, where Magnussen's Haas collided with Red Bull's Perez, drew harsh criticism from former F1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, who claims the Danish driver should have been penalised.
'Villeneuve further criticized the FIA's lack of decisive action, suggesting a possible bias in the sport's governing mechanisms.'And the fact he was not even penalised shows that the system is not neutral. If he had been penalised he would have been banned for one race. They decided not to. Why have the rule in place?'It was massive. It was dangerous. It was ridiculous. And he was 17th and 18th or something. He was not even going for the lead. Come on.
