F1 race winner Bottas was speaking to reporters after his tenure with an uncompetitive Sauber team left him as one of the few drivers who hadn't scored points in 2024.
Valtteri Bottas has given a damning assessment of his three-year stint with Sauber following his rough finale at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. After a collision with Haas' Kevin Magnussen ended his race at the Yas Marina Circuit prematurely, 35-year-old Bottas simply said his move to Sauber in 2022 “was a mistake,” before adding, “But we can’t predict the future.” Speaking after the Abu Dhabi GP, Bottas noted how “everything started off well in the first year, but since then, it was downhill.

But once Vasseur departed for Italy, things quickly turned sour at the Swiss team. Bottas only reached the top-10 three times in 2023, dropping to scoring only 10 points for the season.
