CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a minor collision involving two passenger planes at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
The incident occurred about 7 p.m. Sunday, when a taxiing Delta Air Lines plane clipped the wing of a stationary Spirit jet that was parked at the terminal and boarding passengers.The Spirit flight, scheduled to depart at 7:22 p.m. for Los Angeles, was canceled. A spokesman for the airline said the aircraft “was removed from service to be thoroughly inspected by our maintenance team.” He added, “We reaccommodated our guests with alternate travel arrangements.
The Delta flight was arriving from Atlanta. The incident occurred near gate B2, according to an airport spokesperson.
