Fabio Wardley defended his British heavyweight title with a sensational seventh-round stoppage on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou in Ridyah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.
'Big D' reacted to the stoppage by pushing the referee and shooting him a look of disgust for taking away his chance to mount an unlikely comeback. The WBO European heavyweight champion continued to impress with his power shots in round two and built on a good start to his biggest fight yet by peppering his opponent with jabs.
A momentary pause was triggered by the referee who warned Adeleye after he pushed his forearm into the chin of Wardley while trying to escape a clinch position. The 26-year-old stuck out his tongue and tried to play off being hurt as he managed to avoid follow-up punches and make it to the seventh round for the first time.
