Face-masks have once again become compulsory in various hospitals throughout the nation amidst new Covid-style restrictions.
A spokesperson for the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust informed the BBC: "This is in line with a rise in flu cases in our hospital and in accordance with our agreed thresholds, which will be regularly reviewed." According to Amanda Stanford, group chief nurse, the move aims to address the increasing flu incidence over recent weeks, affirming that "all measures will be kept under constant review by our senior nursing and infection control teams."Humber Health Partnership has issued a directive to its staff, stating: "It is now mandatory for all staff, clinical and non-clinical, in all patient-facing areas to wear face masks because of the increase in cases of flu.
Across hospitals in Lincolnshire, Birmingham, and South Warwickshire, the resurgence of respiratory illnesses like Covid-19, Influenza A, and RSV has prompted a reintroduction of extra infection prevention controls.
