He stole meat, alcohol and chocolates from his local Morrisons
Police have released an image of a prolific shoplifter with 49 convictions to his name who stole meat, booze and chocolates from his local Morrisons. Adam Glasby, 46, of High Street in Mansfield Woodhouse, was jailed for a total of 11 months for four admitted charges of theft at his local shop, and for breaching two suspended prison sentences.
Police Constable Laura Marriott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This conviction is the result of excellent and persistent work by community officers. Retail crime can often be seen as a victimless crime. However, this couldn't be further from the truth."The punishment comes after Glasby pinched eight packets of British sirloin steak, worth £28, from the High Street Morrisons.
Then, on October 13 last year, he helped himself to ten tubs of Quality Street chocolates worth £39.90 and left without paying. He returned the same day for eight more tubs of Quality Street. His convictions include 20 offences for shoplifting, four for dwelling burglary and 12 for non-dwelling burglary. Sentencing him, Judge Rupert Mayo imposed a three-year criminal behaviour order not to go to that branch of Morrisons and from going to Aldi in Mansfield.
