An apparent global outage that affected Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads, has ended, according to their parent company Meta.

Thousands of Facebook users had issues with logging into their accounts Tuesday morning as outages were reported across the globe. Many reported being logged out and unable to log back in.The issues appeared to be widespread, with countries such as the U.K., Japan and Brazil reporting problems. Meta announced at 12:36 p.m. EST that they had recovered from the outage and that services had been restored. The company also apologized for any inconvenience the outage may have caused., the outage comes days before a deadline for Big Tech companies to the European Union’s new Digital Markets Act. They reported that Meta would have to make changes in order to comply but it isn’t clear if the outage is connected to any preparations the company may be doing.
