New works come as local cllr also says CCTV planned for facility
The beleaguered Henry Jones Playing Fields in East Belfast received approval for a face-lift on Tuesday evening, just as the grounds were hit by the latest in a string of security alerts.
At the very same time on Tuesday the PSNI were investigating a suspicious object at the park. Church Road was closed between Manse Road and Marlborough Heights. The police later said the object was “nothing untoward”. He added: “There are a number of investigations ongoing and a prosecution progressing. CCTV is being installed over the coming while to make it easier to catch or deter those intent on causing mayhem.”
